hCG Level Doubling Time Calculator

hCG or Human Chorionic Gonadotrophin is a pregnancy hormone which starts to be released into the woman's blood stream soon after the egg implants into the lining of her uterus at about 8 to 12 days after conception. This hormone is the one that is detected by home pregnancy tests (HPTs)

The hCG levels and progesterone levels in the maternal circulation after implantation of the embryo (blastocyst) on about day 21 of the menstrual cycle help prevent normal menstruation. Dates in Pregnancy

The important Due Date, possible conception date or weeks and trimester dates, here are a few calculators to help with those:

Due Date Calculator: Enter the LMP, Conception or IVF date and you will be shown your Expected Date of Delivery, how many weeks and days pregnant you are. Along with these are links to the week and trimester at this stage of pregnancy.

Fetal Development: Pregnancy week by week, by month or trimester guides. Enter your LMP and you will be shown, Due Date, Estimated Conception date, how many weeks pregnant and how many weeks left till due date. There is some information for the trimester you are in and a link to your pregnancy week by week.

Measurements in Pregnancy

There will be many times during your pregnancy when you or baby are measured, but what are they all for and are they correct for your stage of pregnancy?

The Fundal height measurement is an old an quick way to check baby is growing at the right rate.

At most visits your pregnancy weight gain is checked as too little or too much weight gain may cause problems at a later stage.

Ultrasound is used to see that baby is doing well inside that growing belly. Some women will only have only get a few scans in pregnancy and others will see many types of ultrasound during their pregnancy.

The common scans you might receive are: an early first trimester scan, 12 week NT scan and a second trimester anatomy scan. Measurements taken during these scans may be on the scans or in your notes, common ones are CRL, HC, AC, FL and HL. These are used to compare with other pregnancies on percentile charts.

BPD, HC, AC, and FL measurements are used to calculate gestational age and can also be used to find the estimate fetal weight
